John Robert Pugh, Jr., CFA

John Robert Pugh, Jr., CFA is President of Insight Wealth Management, Inc., an independent investment counseling and financial consulting firm in the Washington, DC area. Mr. Pugh is also a member of the Practitioner Faculty with The Johns Hopkins University's Graduate Business School teaching investment analysis, portfolio management and corporate finance, and a Senior Faculty Member with the Keller Graduate School of Management teaching securities analysis, derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, economics, international finance and financial management. Mr. Pugh has been helping CFA candidates prepare for their exams since 1998 when he began teaching for the Washington Society of Investment Analysts (WSIA) CFA review program. He has served as WSIA's Education Committee Chairman since 2000, and is currently also WSIA's Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors.

Mr. Pugh has extensive analytical experience from working on a range of municipal finance and economic issues as a Senior Financial Analyst for the Prince William County Government just outside Washington, DC, and as an Economic Analyst with the Central Intelligence Agency. He previously worked also as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer, managed his own importing company, directed an economic advisory service and taught full-time as a tenured college economics instructor. Mr. Pugh has earned graduate degrees in financial economics and international relations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and The Johns Hopkins University. His wide-ranging experience as both an academic and practitioner serves him well in helping candidates prepare for and pass the CFA exams.
